Afar purchasing several other brands of groove sharpeners, I had the X6™ and the X2™ custom made to my specifications and design. Other tools are much smaller and without any type of grip or handle are extremely uncomfortable to use. The X6™ has a very comfortable soft rubber handle that really makes it easy to use. The handle fits in the palm of your hand allowing you to apply slight downward pressure while pushing or pulling the cutting head through the grooves and it gives you ultimate control. Other brands try to make it appear as if the vinyl end caps will act as a grip, which is a joke and if you have tried them you know first hand. With other brands you are really just buying a piece of steel, it's like buying a drill bit and using it by hand.
All cutting tools are subject to wear and will lose their cutting ability over time. The X6™ gives you 3 times the number of tips, increasing its life expectancy 3x. Oh yea, and if you do wear it out, the cutting head is replaceable for only $10. If you attempt to resharpen any hardened tool steel it will (anneal) or become soft!
Other Notes:
- Handle has a "hang" hole that allows you to attach a strap or to hang it on a hook or even your golf bag, use your imagination.
- Both the X6™ handle and cutting head have been 100% custom made to my exact specifications, these are not off the shelf components.
- There is a similar design out there, it is not A2 tool steel and does not last, the handle is too long and awkward, the cutting head is very very small and it is $30.
